Growing Blog Directory in Wikology
I have been adding more and more blogs to Wikology lately and adding subcategories as well. So instead of a single category with all the blogs that I have profiled, you can now see 48 sub-categories (as of now) in the Blog main category. Some of them are pretty lonely, but be assured that I will be adding more blogs and sub-categories in the coming weeks. If you want to add your blogs but don’t see a sub-category related to your blog, just add it in. Just follow this format: Blogs - yourCategory. If you want to add multiple categories to your blog just put a semi-colon (;) after each category. Check out the mini Blog Directory of Wikology here.
Update
Wikology’s modifications which are a bit late in coming are currently in the works. So sit back and relax, you’ll see a brand new Wikology sometime soon.
Wikology Modification
We are presently in the process of modifying the look of Wikology in order to feel users more at home. We are gearing towards a look that is user-centric and visually stimulating without sacrificing speed and ease of use. So watch out for Wikology’s new look.
All about Wikology…
I have been profiling blogs and informing bloggers about their Wikology profiles trying to get people to notice Wikology. So far, my efforts are paying off and there are a number of blogs that are giving Wikology a second look… My thanks to all those who have emailed me their comments, especially to those whose critical evaluations made us think of better ways to improve Wikology…
Forced login disabled…
You can now edit and/or add profiles to Wikology without having to register for an account. This, however, is just temporary, we just want to check if it will help Wikology load faster.
rel=”nofollow” removed from Wikology
I have been getting emails from people that I have profiled regarding the “nofollow” on Wikology’s outgoing links. After careful consideration, John Bresee, the owner of Wikology, gave the thumbs up for the removal of “nofollow” from Wikology’s hyperlinks.
Categories worth a second look…
It’s been a long time since my last post, its just that I’ve been too busy… I made some categories in Wikology that maybe worth your while. By the way, the categories in Wikology are like tags so if you can’t find an existing category suitable for your site just go ahead and make one.
Anyway, here are the categories that I have added recently. Don’t forget to check them out from time to time since I’m updating them everyday.

A Clean New Look
The profiles in Wikology have undergone a major make-over so that everything would be more accessible and would have a clean look to it. I am still on the process of cleaning up the profiles that are still using the old profile version, so by the time I'm done everything would look great. The person profiles now have a category for every position and you also have the option of adding multiple categories by using the semicolon (;) as a separator. I am also uploading pictures to person profiles where applicable. Live edits are also available for the company profiles where you don't have to log-in to use it.
Well, that's it for now. Don't forget to check out the Web 2.0 and Social Networking List in Wikology…
New Social Networking Sites List
As of now I am trying to come up with a good list of Social Networking websites, it may be a little lonely at the moment though… Don't fret because before the end of the week I will be able to present you people with a great list of these sites here, so don't forget to keep coming back and see my progress.
So what exactly is social networking or a social network for that matter? According to Wikipedia: A social network is a social structure made of nodes which are generally individuals or organizations. It indicates the ways in which they are connected through various social familiarities ranging from casual acquaintance to close familial bonds. The term was first coined in 1954 by J. A. Barnes (in: Class and Committees in a Norwegian Island Parish, "Human Relations"). The maximum size of social networks tends to be around 150 people and the average size around 124 (Hill and Dunbar, 2002).
So there you have it people, I am now faced with an incredible dilemma of having to choose from hundreds or maybe millions of sites that may fit the description above. If there are any kindhearted souls out there who can help me with this problem, I will be forever indebted to you…
Sample Profiles
If you haven't been to wikology lately or still did not have the time to check it out, the profile page has been updated and you can now put a logo of your company and even add an image to your profile. Everything has been fixed so that if you don't have any entry for a particular field it will not show in your profile unlike before. You also have the option to list your company under different categories just remember to use the semicolon (;) sign after each category, this also goes for companies, executives, partners etc.
Here's a sample of a company and person profile…
